Costs and Funding

Costs and Funding

When deciding that yourself or a loved one needs care and support it can be a worrying time. It’s the type of service we don’t really think about until we need it. Finding out about what your options are for home care and support is vital. Care recommended is not free for everyone, most people have to pay towards their or a loved one’s care, this is depending on needs, the type of care you require and how much money you have.  There is also funding available from local councils and NHS, however, you would need to find out if you are eligible. If you have already been assessed and been advised you or your loved one is eligible for social services support, then you will be allocated a personal budget. This can be paid by direct payments or individual service funds.

Frequently Asked Questions

Local Authority support with home care funding

Your first point of contact should be adult social services, whose details you can find on your local council website. They will then assess whether funding will be granted.

Paying for private care

There are a few reasons why you may pay privately for care. This may be that you do not qualify for government funding, or the government will only part-fund and you would like to top-up funding. Or it may be that you wish to buy care time to help a loved one, in addition, to support they may already be receiving. How much do care services cost?

We put together a detailed plan for each of our clients’ including the care to be delivered which will show the weekly costs. Some people may be entitled to assistance with the cost of their care.

Will I have the same care worker each day?

Depending on how many weekly visits you have will depend on if it is the same care worker each visit. During times of holidays and care worker’s time off you may receive another care worker. However, we do try to keep the number of care workers to a minimum as we promote continuity of care to all our clients.
